D365 F&O / WMS Software Engineer (m/f/d)

About the role

As part of a 12-member WMS team, you will develop customized WMS solutions within MS D365.

This position is initially a 12–18 month placement (with the possibility of permanent hire). You will be employed through Academic Work and work directly with our partner company. The goal is long-term employment.

Work tasks

In this role, you will shape the IT infrastructure behind a highly automated logistics system with a daily shipping volume of up to 180,000 packages. Requirements are pre-filtered by experienced Functional Consultants, allowing you to focus on clean code and performance.

• WMS Solution Development: Design and programming of high-performance D365 F&O / WMS solutions in X++ for customized, complex logistics processes (Inbound, Outbound, Picking, Packing, Shipping).
• Interfaces & Enterprise Integration: Design, development, and integration of high-volume interfaces (REST APIs, OData, DMF, Business Events, Dual-write) between D365, modern warehouse technologies, and surrounding enterprise systems.
• Code Quality & Customizing: Implementation of custom code beyond the pure standard, conducting code reviews, and continuous performance optimization.
• Release Management & DevOps: Maintenance and development of CI/CD pipelines, as well as versioning and deployment via Visual Studio, Azure DevOps, and Lifecycle Services (LCS).

We are looking for

• Solid professional experience in X++ development with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 F&O) or Dynamics AX, as well as sound practical knowledge in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS). Experience in migration is a plus.
• Experience in integrating interface technologies (REST APIs, OData, DMF) and database performance (T-SQL / SQL Server).
• Passion for clean, maintainable code, strong communication skills in an agile team, and willingness for an initial on-site onboarding at the central warehouse (1–2 weeks in Sevenum, NL).
• Business fluent English (min. C1) and good German skills (min. B1–B2).
